I like that it spread through word of mouth, and that publishers immediately saw its value. I think society in general is suffering from information fatigue, and everyone and their dog feels it.
For a moment I thought that print-only meant write-only read-never, definitely a new way of reading
That seems to be inspired by the excellent Magazin „Delayed Gratification“, which had the same concept but is only published 4 times a year.

I think a reason that publishers like this may be interested in publishing print-only newspapers, magazines, and books isn't just the "reading on screens is bad for you" idea (of questionable validity) but simple economics. It's trivial to block ads and paywalls for online newspapers and magazines - great for the reader, but obviously not so much for the publisher. Likewise ebooks are generally stripped of their DRM and added to one of the "shadow libraries" accessible to the web. Of course you can say a print publication can be scanned and likewise distributed, but such scans are cumbersome and less attractive to "pirates" than things already in digital form.
