These people are awful. I had similar happen to me.
You spend tons of time organizing something, and they show up and start complaining because it’s not diverse enough and by implication you (the organizer) are “the problem.”
I snapped on someone who did this to two of my events in a row, and they didn’t even attend. Just swoop in online and point out problems.
I told them they were uninvited from all future events. It’s not PC but fuck them.
Professional complainers should be uninvited. Underneath it all is an attempt to gain power in the laziest way possible (complaining) and to portray themselves as victims (more power).
I simply have no room for it. Had hundreds of happy people and one pathological complainer.
ONE.
I just told them not to bother coming and blocked them. All my problems solved.
If I were this maintainer, I would say: “I am enforcing the code of conduct which is no name calling on you, you are banned for life.”
Call someone a Nazi, that’s against the code of conduct. See ya.
edit I should add this is AFTER inviting THIS SPECIFIC PERSON to join a panel to help it become more diverse: they didn’t come and STILL complained about the panel I invited them to join not being diverse enough on Twitter.

> Professional complainers
Thank you, I will borrow this term. Issues vary, but for every chosen one, there is a horde of professional complainers, which don't produce anything but noise and everyone's discontent.

Seems like a self defeating argument, by picking such a ridiculous goalpost. There is no such thing as a peaceful nazi, because nazis ultimate political goal is genocide. I would not want to associate with any project that knowingly tolerates someone who wants to eradicate entire classes of people. I would hope that most people feel the same way, because we have seen plenty of times before what happens in the long run when you look the other way.
Jeez this article is nonsense! The author is invoking social sciences terms but clearly has no idea what they are talking about.
> There is no point in having some people's opinions be more important than others. That is the essence of discrimination.
No, open a dictionary or Wikipedia and see: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discrimination
> Discrimination is the process of making unfair or prejudicial distinctions between people based on the groups, classes, or other categories to which they belong or are perceived to belong, such as race, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation.
Taking the risk to feed the troll by commenting here. This whole embarrassing blog article sounds written by someone who mistakenly conflate many things. If people call you out because you’re acting like an asshole they are not “canceling” you. If they ask you to leave a community you polluted with your toxicity, hate for women, brown and black people, they are not attacking your “free speech”, simply showing you the door.
My god, people really need to grown up, touch some grass, grow a backbone and stop playing the victims, so fragile!

Submitted by RGBCube an hour ago. Flagged by the inclusive community, I presume. Thought I'd let it have another shot.
