That's their cash cow, and they badly want to remove them even if there's no reason to. I'm in my 50's, and I got tired of them asking me "When would you like to book an extraction?" and I'm like... they've never been infected, never ached, they don't even jam my other teeth or anything. They're not going to suddenly start being an issue like that. In fact, according to the x-rays, they don't even have roots to cause those related issues. They are literally harmless, even if they haven't fully surfaced.
So... never. That's my answer. Prior to that, it was every visit, even to the point where the secretary would ask me "are you booking an extraction?" when that wasn't ever part of the discussion. This really annoyed me.
Once I finally told them that it's not gonna happen, they stopped asking.
