What's wrong with protest or boycott based on one's values?
Hostile could very well mean the anti-LGBTQ sentiments and attacks happening in deep red states. Recently, a person was beaten to death in a Oklahoma school bathroom

Why put "hostile environment" in quotes, in the headline when the first sentence clearly says something else? What does a "political climate" have to do with attending a conference?
