What are underrated ideas in computer science?

I'm a sucker for use case variants of simple problems that you don't necessarily need to be aware of in the day to day (or necessarily even are the best answers). Consistent hashing, Bezier curves, the Floyd-Warshall algorithm, that kind of thing. Each from well known categories of problems but a subset of conditions where the answer really shines in either its relative simplicity or approach.
