Well they haven’t done a draft despite the fact they don’t have enough soldiers, so I guess this might work.
Where are you getting that? They start conscripting months into the conflict and have never stopped. One of the first measures they took was barring men age 18-60 from leaving the country.
They're predictably secretive about the numbers but they are definitely doing it. A few thousand people were in court for evading the draft last year.

They drafted everyone over 25. The only thing left is the 16-24 group and due to demographic it’s a sizable by smaller chunk
>no draft

I remember how Wagner got vilified about 18 months ago for doing the same thing. Oh well, CNN.
The situation is quite different in a state that gives you an offer you can't refuse that gets you into a situation where you're almost surely going to die vs a more (though not entirely) rule of law-based environment that gives you proper training and leadership.
That's just you buying one narrative and thinking the other is a lie. Maybe both are a lie, maybe both are true but maybe you're right
Not really. There is more than enough evidence for both claims - plus anecdotal evidence as I live in a state with a million Ukrainian refugees, many of them army veterans.
