Good to know that you have better data, I'm sure Météo France would be pleased to be corrected.
I am using Météo France data... I don't think the problem is with them, I would better look at certain media making sensationalist claims.
The maximum temperature at Pau today was 22° Celcius (71°F) and in the next 10 days the max temperature will be around 14°C/57°F, except Saturday 30 (19°/66°), Sunday 1 (21°/70°) and Wednesday 6 (16°/61°).
The Guardian reports a temperature of 26.9C/80°F at 4am on Tuesday. Maybe, but at 4am tomorrow the temperature will be 9°C/48°F
