I doubt I'd show up in those statistics since I haven't actively seeked(?) employment since leaving my last job of my own accord. How many people are burned out with no way to even claim unemployment? Anyone else in a similar position considering options entirely outside of tech?

Yes there are droves of us out there who don't qualify for unemployment. Thats why i think reports from the private payrolls are probably better indicator.
Found this article from adp research which says software is 17% below 2018 levels. This was from last year though so it should be even lower now.
