The idea of a government agency denying services based on social media comments is strikingly evocative of China's use of social reputation scores in denying government services. In China the intent is to force conformity to government standards of behavior. I do not doubt that things will move that way in the U.S.

Be skeptical of what you read in Western media when it comes to non-Western countries (especially China).

"There has been a widespread misconception that China operates a nationwide and unitary social credit "score" based on individuals' behavior, leading to punishments if the score is too low. Media reports in the West have sometimes exaggerated or inaccurately described this concept.[4][5][6] In 2019, the central government voiced dissatisfaction with pilot cities experimenting with social credit scores. It issued guidelines clarifying that citizens could not be punished for having low scores and that punishments should only be limited to legally defined crimes and civil infractions. As a result, pilot cities either discontinued their point-based systems or restricted them to voluntary participation with no major consequences for having low scores.[4][7] According to a February 2022 report by the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), a social credit "score" is a myth as there is "no score that dictates citizen's place in society".[4] ...
There has been a degree of misreporting and misconceptions in English-language mass media due to translation errors, sensationalism, conflicting information and lack of comprehensive analysis.[6][43][111][44][119] Examples of such popular misconceptions include a widespread misassumption that Chinese citizens are rewarded and punished based on a numerical score (social credit score) assigned by the system, that its decisions are taken by AI and that it constantly monitors Chinese citizens.[7][111][39][120][4][5] ... Academic Vincent Brussee writes that as of 2023, "hundreds of headlines have discussed the system, but few have systematically broken down what the [social credit system] is and how it works. Some studies refer to the 'breathtaking' ambition of the system and the 'massive quantities of behavioural data' going into the system without substantiating these claims in any way. Others rely on assumptions of what the system will look like, erroneously speculating that everyone will receive a social credit score, that this score will be publicly available, and that a bad rating will have far-reaching consequences. It is like a game of Chinese Whispers gone wrong."[16]: 40"

Most likely this is how they are defining antisemitism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IHRA_definition_of_antisemitis...

The free speech enthusiasts have suddenly lost their enthusiasm.
it would almost be funny that the US Government, after having been taken over by racist and antisemitic lunatics are now using this as cover for cracking down on free speech, if it hadn't been so obviously coming down the pipeline ever since the US Elites decided that suppressing college protests about Israeli foreign policy was a good thing since it was kind of annoying.
so many parts of the in-progress Fall of the US are just so so stupid and this is amongst them.

I have heard so much from right-wingers about how for instance Germany is misguided because it has antisemitism laws, and how the superior Free Speech of the US is superior. "I hate your views but will protect your right to express them with my life" and such. But some animals are more equal than others, I guess?

It will make more sense once you realize DHS starts with the idea the immigrant is evil and then just works backward towards some plausible excuse. It doesn't matter what the excuse is, anti-Semitism could have been swapped out with 'communism' just as easily. Right wing doesn't actually care that say some skin-heads in Idaho might want holocaust v2 for the jews.
It's one of those right-wingers (well, on some topics) you bemoan that posted this article to draw attention to this abuse.
Well, it's encouraging to know some aren't amoral.
They are limited in viable political candidates, same as the left. So naturally the policies they get are not a perfect reflection of their preferences (if not an outright betrayal, as was the case in the UK where, after Brexit, the alleged "right-wing" government massively increased immigration).
Entirely predictable to get more immigrants after Brexit unless they wanted to gridlock the economy even more. Selling fantasies.
That was known already, with "antisemitism" covering any kind of protest against the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza.
