Cecil B. DeMille and the Google Android Gmail App

Check to see if you have delayed sending enabled. It's a feature that allows you to recall a message by canceling the send. I think the max delay is 30 seconds, which I use, as I am prone to prematurely sending.
Thanks but see "one hour later".
This was clearly the inspiration for the Google designers of the Android Gmail app. I click Send on an /important/ /time-critical/ message that would have gone immediately on the old Gmail web site, and the app dutifully closes... with not a hint of warning. When one hour later the recipient tells me /the message was not received/, I open the Gmail app... which pops up "Sending...".
The difference is of course that Cecil had three backup cameramen, whereas I trusted Google's /flagship mail app/ so didn't send the same message via three other Google products too... /i /i
Good **ing grief. It is not rocket science.
