Again? It was shown with Snowden, 12 years ago, that USA should had not been trusted. Since last year it has become more evident than ever that something was very wrong. And if some other president tries in the future to promise that it won't happen anymore, it could be as bad as before just that not that evident, and that a future president could make things evident again.
Trust is hard to earn, and easy to lose.
Turns out the easiest way to destroy the greatest nation in the world is to fail to hold the rich and powerful to account.
No-one should trust us anymore, and if Europe doesn't step up and do something, this will be China's world to run for generations to come (Russia unfortunately is working on committing suicide).

The people of Venezuela and Iran seem to be trusting it.
Though I can't speak for the good people of the TAX RESEARCH organization of the UK.

Trust the US for what exactly? Looking out for US (business) interests? Sure. Wanting access/control of oil. You betcha. The interests of the people in those countries? Pull the other one.
I imagine the people of Venezuela and Iran, at least some of them, want a replacement for their current regimes, hoping recent actions by the US proves to be a tipping point. It is opportunistic. This in no way suggests they trust the US. Given the history of the US in both Latin America and Iran, it would be ludicrous to suggest otherwise.
