From the article I don't think he actually did that. It said he wrote one line of javascript. I don't think he even set anything up he just sat down at a computer and copied a line from one of the exercises.
Of course it's being spread from a region with an ev outbreak. That's how it works. The news is that it has now officially spread to the US and there is potential of more cases popping up soon since he wasn't quarintined.
Its not hard to detect. Its just hard to reconcile. Hulu can block service since they already have your 10 dollars. And you're unlikely to go elsewhere. there's not many other services streaming new episodes of your favorite sitcom.
But free services and websites ( you know the stuff that's supposed to be ad supported) typically value user traffic over ad revenue. Especially if they're still in the growing phase, or if there's lots of easy alternatives to your service (the case of YouTube). They wouldn't want to risk you hopping over to another service.
The trick is to actually use it. If you auto complete then your coding should be typing 2-3 characters, hit enter, 2-3 characters, enter and so on. It should feel like you're entering hotkeys not typing.
Only real typing should be defining variables and methods.
Your coding speed can go way up depending on how good the autocomplete is.
I just wish the prosecutors and investigators didn't rely on so many questionable and in some cases possibly illegal tactics to bring him down. It really just makes him look more innocent.
As notorious as he was ( and as bad as he was at online security) the us government shouldn't be having so much trouble to prove their case (assuming their allegations are correct)
The crazy death threat people are 4channers. They're not actual people concerned about video game journalism.
The real problem is people don't realize that Anyone can call themself a gamer gate activist, or a feminist, or anonymouse, or al quada.. They don't need to have any kind of affiliation or share any views. and this happens online more than in person due to only having a virtual presence.
I don't think he was lying. He just wasn't aware that he didn't know how to create prrivacy in a box. And his well crafted page made it sound like he figured it out when in fact he had not.
I like how they changed the name from autonomous zone to zone of employment and economic development and then it got passed.
I sense it'll end up being a sweatshop farm and the "employees" will be paid so little that they won't be able to leave.
The us used to allow small towns like this. Employees would get paid in company minted currency. Then they'd only be able to shop at stores and restaurants owned by the company. This sort of thing is of course illegal now.
