Have you considered that trans people just want to live their lives? As we all know, transitioning, social, hormonal, reduces incidence of suicide. This also applies to under 18 individuals. Should such options and approaches suddenly be revoked and discontinued, it will naturally follow that some will die who otherwise would not have.

How many do consider reasonable to sacrifice in the name of political expedience?

With enough force applied, the Earth will no longer be there when it comes back to that point.

I think this is unfair; m$ does provide perfectly usable generic printer drivers, as long as you only use basic universal features. The problem is that the printer producers each want to provide a host of features on top of that, each in their own proprietary way, with post print hole-punching, 5 different paper trays, user boxes, 4 different options for duplex printing.

Also, label printers, why the heck does zebra only do EPL or ZPL? Why not pcl6 or PS like the rest of the universe?

The point is that printers are bullshit. Nobody knows how they work, and assuming that microsoft should just figure it out on its own is at least in my opinion, unreasonable.

Ah, that was quite an embarrasing error on my part, thanks.

This entire comment is, i am sorry to say, silly. ou are arguing that the element bismuth should be called a "semimetal" as opposed to a "metal", and in a sense, you are correct.

in another sense, however, it would also make sense to call it and every other element heavier than helium "metal"; since that is how things are done in astronomy, where the arguably most important elements are the first ones.

But when one reads "metal" without any other context, one generally interprets the term within the context of chemistry, where bismuth is absolutely referred to as a "metal", a "post-transition metal" to be more precise.

That is to say, you are the botanist showing up and calling the tomato a fruit, wheras the rest of the world understandably calls it a vegetable.

Which to be even clearer is 415 metric tons.

For context: typical max weight for a truck in the US of A is 80k lbs, or a bit over 36 metric tons.

Making up information? The same can be said for most commonly used modern compressed video formats. Just low bitrate streams of data that gets interpolated and predicted into producing what looks like high resolution video. AV1 even has entire systems for synthesizing film grain.

The way i see it, if the ai generated HDR looks good, why not? It wouldn't be more fake or made up than the rest of the video.

It does not seem to be using a material we would normally consider appropriate for photograpic film. The article mentions: "multiple thin layers of an oil paint pigment called rose madder"

If i understand the principle correctly, the captured light would simply slowly fade exposed portions of the "film" over centures, eventually resulting in a faint negative of the sum total of the scenes witnessed.

Exposing the film to light at that point, one kiloyear from now, would probably do nothing, unless you left it exposed for a couple decades to direct sunlight.
