For surprise of no one. I mean, before AI we have the problem with stored knowledge. If I am not wrong, psychologists discovered that students were using websites as "storing devices", students werer not willing to memorize data that could be find easily on the internet. I think that it was not bad per se, since specialized knowledge is increasing the human brain can not store all the info related to a topic.

However, the AI is solving problems that are required to be solved by students in order to learn/develope an ability. I think that we are abusing the use of this new tecnological tools, the machines are the ones learning/thinking/solving while we seek comfortability, not putting effort into solving problems.

We are becoming unskilled enough to be exploited with no option.

I find amusing the: "IQ is inherited/its geneticslly related" argument. If you study all the factors that shape an individual (socio-economic status, environment, dietary habits, etc), you can see the impact those factors have on an individual. For instance, if toddlers consume excesive sugar around 3 years old, it has been observed that around 8-9 years they have lower IQ than their peers that have a more healty diet. Not just that, we now know about the microbiota-gut-brain axis, and we know how our mood affect our performance in everything we do.

If individuals are exposed to different environments, there are likely to learn more things. This is only possible if you have the means (usually money) to acces those new and different environments.

What about Quality of life? If you struggle to meet your basic needs, then its more likely that you will strugle in everything else.

If you present this facts to people, most of the time they would agree. But if you use this information to discuss IQ, a lot of people, including experts, would dismiss them in favor of the genetics argument.

The article does a good job debunking the myth, however, as the article says, the issue is systemic and I think that it can't be solved because it is not about the intelligence of individuals, we need to solve the issues related to the factors that affects an indivdual. Intelligence is a subproduct of an individual's development. And this makes feel less special to people that have some social privileges.

You are right. The technology is part of the problem. The article points how social media xan not solve the problem. In my opinion social media is the biggest problem regarding this topic. Socialazing is a core necesity in human nature, denying this and other biological traits is what causes discomfort on individuals. Technology is only increassing the issue, not because technology is inherently bad or evil, but cause technology is developed to pursue wealt and power, bot in behalf of society.

Why? You want to solve the problems caused by the lack of social integration-interaction by not socializing using VR. The problem with VR, videochat, social networks, etc., is that you are not there, you do not face the challenges nor the consequences of social activities. People gets anxious just thinking about that sonthey never leave their comfort zone, thus causing more issues on the individuals and, obviously in the society.

Society and social system are not working ideally, in fact is far from acceptable levels if you ask me. But the solution is not ostracism disguised as virtual interaction.
