Hey all! I'm doing a Hackathon right now, and wanted to build a directory for QR Artwork since it has been getting more and more popular with things like Controlnet.

I saw a few websites charging really high prices for not-amazing Artwork, so wanted to make something where people can compare QR Artwork creation tools.

I'm still struggling to build it, but wanted to ask for ideas early so I can pivot as needed.

Would love any ideas! I know it doesn't look very good, but in the spirit of sharing MVPs, wanted to ask here.

> What specific LLM are you using and for what reason? What are you using it for? Are you using it in a professional or personal capacity? What does your workflow look like?

-

Perplexity Pro and I swap between GPT4, Claude 3 Opus, and Minstrel within it. (Just w/rewrite function within the tool) Previously I paid for OpenAI's GPT4 but stopped b/c responses kept getting worse to the same prompts.

Both for personal and professional, I use Google alongside it. Some use cases:

- Reading and 'talking' through the last 6 - 12 months of blood and urine tests, understanding risk factors, optimisation areas, and also telling it which supplements I take for more custom responses.

- Initial niche discovery and exploration ("What is reddit sentiment around X and Y? What is the Macro trend area for this?")

- Brand name readability and perception ("I'm considering these 5 brand names, add 10 more ideas and give me a SWOT breakdown for each, ordered by most to least appealing for a worldwide non-English audience.")

Plenty more but I don't know if that's what you were looking for. Also I use llama 3 for writing roasts on the Perplexity labs chat lol

Same here, I feel stupid not to, but I just can't see a clients trust going up if I start by saying "Ok, let's go to GoDaddy/Porkbun and purchase your business domain"

Namecheap is marginally better, wish cheap wasn't in the title but I haven't had any issues with them over the years.

Neat share, I've been getting more ultrasounds this year and feeling more and more bullish on non-invasive imaging. I recently enjoyed this podcast about imaging. Can't find it now, maybe was about SimonOne or something similar. Sort of advocating for the idea of a annual full body MRI. Really made me wish the tech was cheaper and everywhere already so we can catch things early.

That script looks so lovely.

Wow, this is incredibly fast. I have Perplexity Pro and dare I say this is...faster? I like how you've made the UI load in sections. Nice build :)

Surprised no one has mentioned Runescape. Touch typing felt like the only option for GE spamming lol.

Does anyone know if there's a mental model or term to describe this? Would like to broadly read about more examples of this.

Can you give an example of how that file/doc would look? (Maybe just part of the __Learning group?) I dig this as a concept, I think all of my writing could be stored on a 1mb txt or OPML file, just haven't been able to find a good tool for that.

Oh also importantly - If I was you atm, I'd buy month-to-month or a cheap plan until Black friday sales/other sales. I got the biggest plan at a discount a few sales ago.

Yeah, agreed with the other comment here on mail.

I've tried their VPN, Calendar, Protonpass extension, etc.

VPN gets a 5/10 for me. I prefer PIA for speed, reliability, and streaming. (Also dedicated IP optino.)

Calendar gets a 1/10 for me. I don't use it, it was too hard to figure out in terms of UX.

Proton Pass gets a 9/10 for me. Easy, quick, importing all my passwords into it was fast. I wish it had a standalone app with local storage or something.

I use several custom domains for mail and have appreciated having the option to have it all in the same inbox. I wouldn't personally compare it to Google one-to-one, but it's excellent at mail.

Makes me curious if anyone has built visual processing speed tests you can take online? (Ala online eye tests/charts that have started popping up.)

> "We basically gave descriptions of all our coffee types and their flavors to AI and instructed it to create a new exciting blend,"

Smart business move. Would make sense for any B&M to be doing something like this just for the novelty factor/potential news writeup.

> I simply mean that they can't be used practically for tasks that I consider creative.

Can you expand a bit more on what you feel are creative tasks? I'm Curious, not arguing :) I struggle to define the term myself.

That sounds good. I'd pay for this if it was simple and gamified enough. (E.g. RPG style w/levelling and achievements.)

Via Negativa - I wouldn't pay for this if it:

- Uses LLMs/AI and gives me more text to read lol

- Isn't gamified

- Requires me to track work beyond 10 seconds of input

Just some thoughts off the top of my head, sounds like a fun idea! I have an approach that took me almost 13-16 months now to validate ideas with, would be more fun to do as a game.

Google the majority of the time because I know the search operators off the top of my head/automatically, but looking forward to when Perplexity can handle those with ease.

Still hard to beat something like: site:docs.google.com/spreadsheets "Labs" -doctors -knowledge

I also recall some book I read about Google where one of their early differentiators was speed/milliseconds, guessing the search engine race now in 2024 will happen the same way.

ps. An interesting one that's left off here is Tiktok, when watching most people in my age range, it's the first engine/place searched. (It's not strictly a search engine but I see it used as one.)

I commented something sort of similar - Am curious though (I believe I'm younger than you), do you now feel you take less chances like the email/call route? (Would you say you do less of his approach w/calling for that job, or the business school thing?)

> They didn't reply. So, I searched for the owner's name and tracked him down. I would call 2, 3, or 4 times a day for a few days until he picked up the phone and agreed to interview me.

Enjoyed this read, and this part specifically. I recall reading somewhere that most breakthroughs in a field stop happening after someone turns like 30 iirc. (I can't recall what field it was about.)

But this reminds me of that, as we get older, we take less shots. I would likely never take the approach you outlined above, when that's exactly what I need to be doing right now.

Thank you :)

'Have you ever....sent a fax from the beach? You will.'

Always interesting when I see these to see how the future rhymes a bit, but we are still sometimes restricted in our thinking by current technology. (Faxes = Phones in 2024?)

Reminds me of the street camera live feed type things. Are these live feeds? I wasn't able to see. Neat Project :)
