I get what you're saying, but I found myself naturally doing this when talking about gender ambiguous animals or hypothetical people just because it made more sense. Nobody taught me this. Same with using "one" instead of "you", which I've never heard anyone do outside of ridiculing royalty.
Im not American, so my knowledge on the natives, or Indians as I'm told they prefer to call themselves, was based on media made by these colonial powers. I started reading into the subject recently and I find that the only thing the colonial powers seem to miss out is the brutal treatment of women, the gang rapes and the torture. Interestingly enough, the powers that be in New York that never had dealings with the Indians face to face had the same picture of peace loving land hippies in mind when telling southerners how to negotiate with them.
The comanche specifically were some of the most impressive and frightening people I've ever read about.
Makes sense if you want to make money, and have money enough to not have to suffer the worst of it yourself. Of course, nobody voted for it, but those that promised not to do it and did it anyway were democratically elected, so only a fascist would take issue with it surely.
In my twenties my friend group had a gay jewish law student and an actual nazi, and everything in between. We all had the same sense of humour and didnt take ourselves seriously. The two guys specified would have deep and long conversations (not debates, not arguments) intonthe early hours while the rest of us fell asleep or left due to next day obligations. The only controversy I recall was when I said Conan the Barbarian is better than Lord of the Rings.
I've lost count of the interactions Ive had or witnessed in which a living breathing authority on a subject is ignored in favour of using voice recognition to ask an LLM the question first, or worse, second.
Ive noticed similar. I dont like the site, bit hopefully wiki are away of this and learn something from it. Some pages read like they were written by zealots rather than people documenting facts.
Same. The only person I know who consumes it and isnt slow brained is a guy that eats it once a year in a brownie at some guys birthday party, and not every year.
Do you have anything to report in terms of mental or physical health after making this change, both short and long term? I quit sugar a long time ago I was just interested to read your experience compared to my own. I certainly had withdrawal and intense cravings to begin with and I wasn't particularly overeating or enjoying a poorly balanced diet at the time. I caught myself eating cookies and spitting them into the trash without swallowing so it "didnt count" before I decided I was going to ditch the stuff forever.
Im not one, but for me I just have ingredients that write the food off for me. Sugar, maltodextrin, aspartame etc. is a no. Rapeseed oil, palm oil etc.
Its a lot easier than trying to decide if something is part of a category based on multiple factors, it either contains DO NOT EATs or it doesnt. I'm already going to read the ingredients on everything I buy so therrs no extra work. I can pick the word "sugar" out of any jumble of words immediately now.
Perhaps its my phone browser or they removed it but Im not seeing a swastika logo loading the site at the moment.
I do think theres more going on than that though. If a cukture creates a boogeyman the counterculture are boubd to embrace it, even if its only surface level (the nazis were not anti abortion or pro christian, for example)
There were nazis on 4chan before pol. There was everything on 4chan before pol. Thats what the site was about. After initially being very japanese focused, it became... the opposite of whatever reddit is.
The problem with pol was the timing that ended up creating a refuge for right leaning american MAGA christians to come one and all. Though IIRC the site linked is some hard left twitter alternative that would probably define those people as nazis.
