This really reminds me of the concept of elaborative encoding whereas we learn by connecting facts with preexisting knowledge [0]. Abstract things do not stick because we have less touch points to connect them with. The Baker Baker paradox for instance describes the fact that we are much more likely to remember that a person is a baker than the more abstract fact that his name is Baker [1].
I really love the YouTube channel Coding Train [0] - he also made some videos about L-Systems which he also explains in his free book The Nature of Code [1].
My username for HN was inspired by the creator of L-Systems, hehe.
I really can recommend Otter.ai for English transcription. And I'm pretty happy with the accuracy. You can tag and listen to each part of the transcribed text. I use it for consuming lengthy YouTube conference talks. They also have a very generous free plan of 10 hours per month. Big fan here :-)
