McLaren College | Mumbai, India | Online Teacher | Full-time | REMOTE

"Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?"

-- Steve Jobs to Pepsi CEO John Sculley, 1983

Join us on our mission to change the world! McLaren College is an online school designed to identify and train people in poor countries for software engineering careers who otherwise would not have such an opportunity. We do not charge any up-front fees for our course; our fees are charged as a percentage of a student's income after they graduate (or complete at least 60% of the course). We enrolled our first batch of students for our Flutter and React programming course in September 2019 and are currently preparing our next batch of students for a MERN-stack course.

If you have a passion for programming and helping others, please consider applying for our teaching assistant role: https://mclarencollege.in/jobs/online-teaching-assistant.htm...

Send your CV to [email protected] including the role you are applying for and let us know how you heard about the role (ie. on HN).

> American's used to be able to support large families of 4+ kids with only 1 working parent. Now you have households with both working and they can't afford to have kids.

This statement isn't supported by the Pew Research article you linked to. If real average earnings are constant then a household which now has two breadwinners will double its income and be better off.

Also keep in mind longitudinal effects: native-born Americans have seen their wages rise but this is offset by immigrants who generally have lower-than-average wages - but still higher than in the country they emigrated from. Both groups are better off even though average wages haven't changed.
