The speed-up improvements are incredible, can't wait for this to rollout to Deno. Everything I build uses TypeScript so I'm excited to see just how quick my apps compile.
This is where I’m at. While I’d LOVE to have a powerful near-frontier model at home, I don’t have the extra funds necessary to purchase a tricked-out Mac Studio…and if I did, I’d pay off debts.
I was born in '88 and I feel like my generation is the last great one (doesn't ever generation think this? Hah!) because I got to experience playing outdoors and online, and was able to do a bunch of dumb stuff before smartphones existed so there's no photo proof.
I miss the feel of the internet I grew up with...I don't think it's coming back. However, I do think we can make a new one.
A few months ago I came to this same conclusion. I watched this YouTube video[1] that argued needing to be right and thinking we can save people is our own ego at work. It helped me realize why I felt anger towards people I cared about deeply, not seeing what's obviously to me the RightThing™ to do; I think I can save everyone.
Also see this video[2], which extrapolates on the types of people you shouldn't try to save. Gives pointers on how to deal with narcissists (both videos use AI-generated imagery and narration, which I typically despise but I had both playing in a background tab so I didn't have to see it at least).
Radicle is too confusing to me. I want to like it though, it looks cool. I appreciate it doesn't look like a Temu Github like almost every alternative.
