Helldiver's engine does have that capability, where bundle patches only include modified files and markers for deleted files. However, the problem with that, and likely the reason Arrowhead doesn't use it, is the lack of a process on the target device to stitch them together. Instead, patch files just sit next to the original file. So the trade-off for smaller downloads is a continuously increasing size on disk.

Non-made up numbers from Vermintide 2 (same engine): On PS4 when an optimized build took around 1.5 minutes to boot to main menu, the unoptimized version would take 12-15 minutes [1]. A different benchmark than SSD vs HDD, but shows that the optimization was certainly needed at the time. Though the PS4 was partially to blame as well, with it's meagre 5400 RPM spinny drive.

For their newer instalment, Fatshark went with a large rework of the engine's bundle system, and players on HDDs are complaining about long loading times expectedly. That game is still large at ~80GB, but not from duplication.

No need to set it per individual page. There are (arguably easy to use) ways for a web page to know the user's OS-level color scheme preference [0].

We still need the workaround via extensions or Userstyles for the ones that don't implement that, sadly.

I use "site:reddit.com" to fully restrict to that. You can even filter by subreddit that way.

Works well with HN and other sites, too.
