My institution's been included in studies primarily for patient access. If we're not included, then good luck getting enough patients, and even then it can take several years to enroll enough patients. Replicating such a trial would be near impossible.

It's generally permitted to share de-identified patient data. As long as you're not sharing patients names, medical record numbers, birthdays, and a couple of other fields, you should be fine.

Most theories I've seen suggest that it was created by Simone's mom. Whenever Simone mentions her mom, Mrs. Davis responds with "Redirecting..." suggesting that the algorithm has a special relationship with her.

The book had 2 sequels, which show that Colossus was working to keep humanity safe. (It would've really helped if Colossus had told us what it was protecting us from, but even computers can make mistakes.)

There are an awful lot of expensive apps with web front ends that only worked with IE6 for years.

It's possible to stop a trial because the new drug is much more effective than the old drug. It's also possible to stop a trial because the new drug's significantly worse than the old. We've done both. Also, I hope that no one ever tells you that you have to do a drug schema change because "too many kids are dying."
