Evolution is the only client on Linux (that I’m aware of) that fully supports Microsoft exchange and Google out of the box without any plugins. I used thunderbird for a long time, however I got frustrated so many times after things broke after every update because essential plugins stopped working. Yes, you may say Evolution UI is old, but the software is rock solid and softwares in general are more than their GUI. It’s good to bring awareness about the tracking but I’m not so bothered by it, as its hard to find software that doesn’t track you these days
Clicked on this thinking it was about a calculator, so impressed that it was about swapping out the guts of an casio watch and building and uploading the firmware.
TLDR Linux systems using Secure Boot rely on a Microsoft certificate (from 2011) that will expire on September 11, 2024. After that, new Linux installs using Secure Boot may fail to boot unless the system firmware includes Microsoft’s newer 2023 key and updating the key often requires a firmware update from hardware vendors which doesn’t always happen. It’s crazy that many users are relying on an outdated Microsoft key unknowingly (I will be checking if I’m among them smh) Also great that people are bringing awareness to this
