Founder of Sentopia.net here... I actually agree, we would love to integrate a better campaign editor in our platforms, since we have our own delivery engine and don't rely on Amazon SES.
Sentopia.net founder here, I don't believe this is just Mailchimp, we have received a warning from Paypal entitled "Cryptocurrency warning." where it states "(...)we noticed that your activity involves the trading or transfer of crypto currency which is prohibited under our Acceptable Use Policy. As this is not permitted on the PayPal platform we ask that you cease any activity that results in the trading or transfer of crypto currency."
We are a digital marketing business.. we don't trade or transfer any crypto, so this can only be because several of our customers have sent blockchain related campaigns and the campaign title shows up on Paypal's product description on checkout. If this is the case, then it doesn't seem fair at all.
Edit: we have no plans to restrict crypto related campaigns for our current or new customers.
Sentopia.net founder here. I agree that the codebase could be better, a lot better.. but we have made heavy modifications and it's not a problem anymore, I should add that we have tried to work together with Sendy.co developers but seems our emails are being ignored.
Sendy is a platform, and a good one at that. but our value is on our SMTP server pools and their reputation as others have mentioned. We are always looking at new platforms like postal, that we can jump on board with if it means a better user experience for our clients.
and what is the value of:
"I Don’t Care If a Flight Attendant Almost Hit a Baby"
It is a purely selfish post that obviously focuses on the "I" of a narcissistic and maybe sociopath mind. What does it add to the broader value of the issue?
"I’ve always been advised to avoid these “sub-communities” like /r/javascript and Hacker News. Maintainers say they are filled with assholes who don’t know what they are talking about, angry idiots shouting at everything and everyone, cesspools, giant piles of trash burning in the wind."
I find that HN has one of the most sober comment sections I could ever wish for, it's certainly better than Reddit. I mostly come here for the comments.
I've launched Sentopia (https://www.sentopia.net) as a side project and it is still easily making over 1K with just 2 medium sized clients but it is not passive income, requires some maintenance & customer support but still very much worth it.
We've also been using Sendy and I agree, the code is far from perfect and we have spent countless hours either fixing some issues or adding much needed features, making it actually usable for SaaS (sentopia.net), will need to move away to something better in the near future, this maybe a good start!
