There are so many examples of how research is hindered by closed source companies. The recent paper on "are emergent abilities of LLM a mirage?" also hints at how the closed nature of OpenAI and their refusal to share discoveries is an obstacle.
What I am currently doing:
Tech lead and senior data scientist in the automotive industry with specific focus on computer vision. Implementing agile workflow by acting as a scrum master. Engage with product management and leadership to build a technical vision for the company.

Worked on projects i.e trained and deployed models in the domain of semantic segmentation, instance segmentation, detection, classification, localization, path prediction, text to speech synthesis, catastrophic forgetting, active learning. Additionally, I have also lead data curation efforts for these projects. I have experience with the following data domain: camera, lidar, gps, audio and other tabular forms of data
