How well tested would you say these libraries are? It doesn't sound promising, sadly. If there are comprehensive test suites, that would go a long way to ensuring new, faster tools arent producing subtly wrong answers. That's a pretty big deal, just because the code compiles or there is no exception thrown doesnt mean the analysis was correct.
According to ABET they do if they want the degree to be accredited. We had two classes for my SE degree. From Criterion 3. Student Outcomes:

Using this logic, all of the homeless people are counter signaling then. And there are plenty of executives who wear suits. Also signaling has one l, so thus you are signaling your importance.

I wouldnt jump to conclusions too fast. I'm a very thin person, but I get a lot of ads for GLP-1. My doctors have always said I need to gain weight, so I can assure you I'm not searching for weight loss solutions. Nor am I diabetic.
It's the same reason why kids were passing notes in school instead of paying attention. It's no longer called socializing/talking with friends. Its now social media/playing with your phone.
People want to feel like they are part of a group.
