If I understands this correctly. Microsoft wants links tagged with edge to always open in edge on windows. The people that made both edge and windows want a tag made for edge and windows to perform as expected in edge and windows.
I find it interesting that to the question of 10x or 100x programmer they never ponder if it exist. They just answers what those people do or are.
At least in my book that seals the debate, some of the best says they exist and can describe them. Then they probably exist in larger numbers than outliers in a dataset.

Noone is saying best practice are the best. Only that it's the best we are practicing, are there better yea sure. Can I make a better solution than Json? Maybe. But do anyone have a good or even a mediocre understanding of it? Probably not, why? Well it's not best practice.
Best practice is like ITIL just a way of doing things that's fairly proven to work well, and many people know or understand it to some extent. And it constantly changes.
I'm always surprised with these kinds of software I'm assuming this is like a open source TurboTax etc.
Americans fill out their tax return and then the IRS checks that it's correct against? Well against their information, which they could give you in the form of a pre filled tax return you could alter if something was wrong (and both the IRS and you would be sure to have the best information for that year, then fraud check could be done primarely on those with changes, primarely over a certain sum etc. Just guessing but that's better use of tax dollars.
But then again I'm in Norway and understand that I'm lucky in that sense. Here tax returns are fully automated, in 15 years I've had to perform 2 maybe 3 minor changes. Everything for salary, pension, deductibles, loans, interest, stocks, fortunes etc. Is prefilled.
I don't see an issue.
