Can't wait for Trump to further monetize the POTUSity with historical ignorance by plagiarizing a translation of a recently re-released book in German, to be "cleverly" titled "My Struggle (to Not Grope Ivanka)."
VICE News Tonight recently covered this: Flint doesn't even know yet how much pipe has to be replaced. It could be up to 200 megabucks more just for retrofitting lead pipes. Healthcare is getting 50 megabucks of 100 from Congress, but Trump seems apt to keep Flint residents poisoned and inconvenienced. It's another bulldozing tribal sites over the weekend before the TRO hearing kinda desecration added to the insult after the poisoning.
How would infrastructure help a so-called civilized society if we were to turn our backs on minimum decency, especially for the elderly, disabled and others shown to be untrainable? Why not add up the trillions squandered on the War on Drugs prison-industrial complex and trillions wasted in Iraq, whom had nothing to do with 9/11?
There aren't enough jobs because there is an oversupply of productive capability (population is what it is) with fewer people combined with a (currently) corrupt US govt, resulting in extreme capital concentration by a few. Extreme inequality set the conditions for Trump, Brexit and the French Revolution. Balance is needed, or upheaval becomes increasingly probable.
Grass roots gotta get back the political process and clean organized labor is what has always worked (though paid usually in blood.)
It's morally-consent now to offer Snowden an immunity deal in exchange for inventorying what was taken. Without meaningful whistleblower protections, the deep state remains deeply corrupted.
Necessary knee-jerking wake-up call: Antibiotics should be rationed, those prescribed (after culturing) must be assured they are taken by some automatic/interactive means and it should be a felony to pill-mill them for a cold; otherwise, without rapid r&d, we're going to lose the survival arms race.
In pretty much the same boat, broke and living in an RV. Exercise/fitness, set routine and take a semi-bullshit job to stay busy the truth is the banality of nearly every venture. Stay busy no matter what, because idleness and depression are dangerous. Find joy and "move the needle" to positivity.
Still unrepairable and unupgradable (unlike previous MBP non-Retina), foisting ultimate, overpriced Apple control over a previously much more flexible product. Also, the touchbar and new keyboard aren't very practical.
When there is a Retina model with RAM DIMMs, changable SSDs and superior keyboard, I'd consider looking at MBPs again.
OMG, apples and oranges terrible analogy. The best monetary returns investment in the real world is typically accomplished rehabbing the worst home in the best area because of the undeniable market power of comparables... the nice, expensive homes will boost the value of a now more attractive-seeming home by carefully-chosen upgrades which deliver maximum ROI, i.e., looks (good front landscaping), wow features and/or adding area/rooms; not sinking cash into pricy, low ROI money pit/white elephant work or hoping a nicer-seeming home in a bad area will magically not be depressed by terrible comparables.
When iOS cannot fetch the fixed content of www.thinkdifferent.*, a UIWebView pops and displays that content, assuming it's a captive portal needing attention.
Instead, there should be some non-routable, local-only special IPv4/IPv6 address that all captive portals are required to present.
No more DNS spoofing, no more page rewriting which breaks the web.
An avg. of ~$75 billion in govt funds are spent on homeless social services in the U.S. every year with very little results... that's ~$123k/yr for every individual homeless person.
Also, the problem with housing costs is that land is finite and expensive, hence the need for vertical growth and smaller units to add to the supply.
Finally, another problem is the influential, nativist NIMBY homeowners whom styme affordable housing efforts like vertical growth and microhomes to keep their property values high, while millions sleep rough on the street. The disenfranchised will stay screwed until they organize and demand minimal human decency.
