Sounds like you have a great use case. I can see how it would have been useful for me as well back when I was at university. Unfortunately, I rarely do any writing on paper any more, although I probably should.

iPad is a product I want to love, but still never find a reason to use.

They need to change their name so bad. Sounds like a Russian scam site.

Shameless plug here, but, for different reasons, I have to have bluetooth disabled on my iPhone at work, so I can't use AirDrop. Instead, I'm using WireDrop to transfer files via USB. I made the app only for this specific purpose.

I don't know exactly what Paul was referring to when he wrote his tweet, but my own interpretation of the problem is that the EU has basically transferred the responsibility entirely over to the end user, which is a responsibility that we know people are not capable of handling.

Sure, you can say that websites have the option of "Just don't track", but realistically we know that that will never happen. Particularly since a lot of websites are actually tracking the user for the purpose of making the experience better (such as remembering settings, recent search terms, etc...), rather than tracking for the purpose of selling data to advertisers. But, from the user's point of view, they won't know what they have agreed to anyways. So essentially we get to a scenario where 99% of the websites have annoying cookie banners, when we already know that 99% of users won't read the terms anyways...

If the EU was good at regulating things, they would come up with a solution which puts the responsibility primarily on the website. One example of this could be if EU defines like ~5 different "data ratings", with pre-defined conditions of what sort of data was allowed to be tracked for each rating. Then the websites are responsible for choosing the rating that corresponds to their level of data gathering, and if they report it incorrectly, the EU could fine them.

The result of this is that when a user visits a website, you can quickly see a "badge" in the browser which lets you know what sort of tracking this page has (thus the user learn what each rating means, and get a better understanding of what they agree to). This is very similar to what Apple already does in the App Store in the "Data Linked To You" section for each app.

For me, the mentioned balance issue is only happens on Apples AirPods. With wired audio devices, or third party bluetooth, I never noticed this.

First sentence of the article: "We live in the age of the short attention span"

Followed by "TO READ THIS STORY, SIGN IN OR START A FREE TRIAL."

No, thank you!

I'm not convinced this article says what the title suggests, but it's very hard to judge. It talks about "Emissions Intensity" and states:

> "India's rate of emissions intensity - the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions emitted for every unit increase of gross domestic product (GDP) - fell by 33% from 2005 to 2019"

Sounds to me that this is a case of "decrease of the increase", rather than overall reduction. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you for this! Really interesting. I'm having a look at it now.

Although my initial thought was that it would be great if there was a way to watch the entire day (for one news station) in one clip, rather than have to click on multiple 30 seconds videos.

Thank you for sharing your story! It is always interesting to hear different perspectives from these events.

Regarding your VCR tapes. I understand it may be difficult for you to watch, but I encourage you to get them digitalized soon, while you still can. Perhaps even upload them in full length online somewhere for other people to look at.

Ok, you are probably right! I just seemed to recall hearing that if you write a code from scratch, that then “happens” to compile exactly into the same binary, then it is a bit of a “gray area” as to if the original owner has copyright or not.

Again, I honestly don’t know for sure, sorry for the confusion.

Actually I don't think so. They have been very careful not to include any copyrighted material in the repository. For example, all game assets are not included. I believe the decompiled code itself can not be copyright protected by nintendo since the decompilation is written from "scratch"... Although I am not fully sure how the law are in regards to that.

This is a fork of the above mentioned sm64-port that adds some additional features.

Yes, this is the original repo by the creator of the PC port.
