I don't mean to insinuate they are like for like. I just mean Apple is starting to pick up scrutiny on interoperability which started with USB-C and I think the focus on this project is going to increase the scrutiny especially if Apple cuts it off.
Fortunately, I think this is going to be a forcing function for the RCS conversation.
Unfortunately, I'll be waiting for the data loss post coming in the near future. As some one who had to deal with a stuck iMessage validation with Apple support on a genuine iPhone a few years back this can get sticky.
Agreed, and many of them don’t know when they are lying. It’s easier to sound really confident when you don’t have the domain knowledge to know if you are telling the truth.
That was my first thought as well. While I don’t know their financials intimately from the outside I don’t know what they have done in comparison to Apple of yesteryear to triple the market cap. Feels ominous for the dollar.
That was my experience as well. Home labs seem to be cyclical for a lot people including myself. Started with a big overkill rack to learn technologies, and now I’m down to a 10 inch desk rack that is ATX case size with just a few things to run my network and small VMs.
I think you hit it head on with this. It seems to be a control thing first and foremost. The worst nightmare is that you will grab their content in a text only format with no ads.
