>The price looks really good compared to Stadia, and being able to use a dirt cheap Fire Stick that many already have instead of a $100 hardware investment is a huge plus.
I don't get this statement. Don't you need to purchase an Amazon Controller for $50 and if you want a good SoC and 4K capability you'll also need to purchase a Fire Stick 4K at about $50 which brings the total to $100.
As for Stadia - there's no need to purchase a Stadia controller or Chromecast 4K. I've used an Xbox controller and Chrome to play just fine.
More like shitty Java. I'm glad Java is being relegated to a second class language that is not recommended for Android development. Kotlin is the now the recommended language for Android development. I give Google 2-3 years before they deprecate Java from Android.
It's absolutely amazing how some people can find new ways to blame Google for something they had nothing to do with. Just Incredible. Additionally, if it had not been for the money given to Mozilla by Google the development of Firefox would have severely been in decline and possibly abandoned.
>And this is why we all should have shouted louder when Google set this precedent five years ago.
Do you also shout loud when Microsoft set a precedent for shutting down products and services? Of course you don't. You just confine your rage to Google. Let's have a look at all of the products and services Microsoft has cancelled:
Let that sink in next time you do a drive by on a Google related topic and post one of those lame "I wonder when it will be cancelled" worthless posts.
You're calling Google "creepy AF" and giving Microsoft a pass? Did you forget they own LinkedIn - probably the second biggest social network that makes money from selling their user's data?? Have a Ad network that tracks users and delivers targeted ads? Has an OS monopoly on the desktop? Has an OS that forces users to use their search engine and only their search engine? Has an OS that has a built in ad tracker that delivers targeted ads? Has an OS that actually has ads in it? Spies on their users via the collection and retention of OS "telemetry"? Has very invasive privacy settings in their monopolistic OS? Has proactively broken into their user's email accounts and then forced to admin their evil behavior when it was revealed in court? Worked with the NSA to deliver Skype and email messages of their user's?
Now, that is what I would call creepy AF and a prime target for investigation.
Odd that you would leave out Microsoft. Did you conveniently forget that one of their companies (LinkedIn) has been selling their users data to the highest bidder?
I suggest you listen to the questions and responses of some of the justices because it's evident they have no idea of what code declarations are.
