I wonder if this why Steve Jobs preferred to hire those who had experienced LSD. I think I saw a video of him mentioning this.

I wonder if someone made one for credit card disputes.

What's the subscription plan price after the free credits run out?

Perhaps look into using dlt from https://dlthub.com, using pyarrow or polars. It handles large datasets well, especially when using generators to process the data in chunks.

Nice. I like the refund more than the vouchers. Good job Biden team: https://apnews.com/article/airlines-junk-fees-baggage-delays...

It was not uncommon to draw a line through the zero to distinguish it from the letter ‘O’. Similarly, a slash was often added to the letter ‘Z’ to prevent confusion with the number 2.

On rare occassions, I still kind of do it.

A question for you and anyone else in security:

Given that many data engineers have a data science, data analytics, BI, or software engineering background, I'm curious if you've noticed any trends in their approach to data security?

Gemini keeps disappointing me. It keeps making code up that is not accurate. I asked it some questions about a python library and the answers were inaccurate. I even instructed it to refer to the docs, but it still fails as Gemini made up methods that don't exist.

I also asked Gemini about git and that didn't go well either.

His "laziness" could be attributed to having ADHD.

I used it for a few days, and it would spin up the fans on my MacBook Pro after a few minutes. I also wasn’t pleased with the tab management. And then I forgot about it.

FTA: "Fast-food chains Chipotle and McDonald’s have already announced they plan to raise menu prices in California to offset the higher cost of worker compensation"

I guess I will refrain from those chains to offset their higher prices. Not even automation seems to help them want to reduce prices. In comparison, In-n-Out had already been paying their employees a higher salary than those chains, but their menu prices aren't as high.

Temper tantrums all because they want to keep wages low while everything else rises.

May want to try Squabbles.io too. Easier to figure out and it has a friendly community. It was featured on Product Hunt yesterday. It made it to the top 3.

That's your opinion. If it would have said, "was quite popular among older Millenials", then that seems right. To say Geocities was for older millenials, does sound rather exclusive because it was used by many age groups, especially Gen X.

It wasn't just older Millenials.

FTA: "Geocities was a formative website for the older millennials"

Well, they got that part wrong.

I really like this and would recommend being able to add extra field(s) when doing a custom one. I know that it had a custom one, but I couldn't format the text. It only adds bullet points. And, I could only use 1 custom field. I'd like to be able to add multiple.

Also, it would be great if one can format with markdown syntax.

The other thing is that I imported my resume (pdf) and it didn't pick up things for the right fields. I know it's a WIP, but hopefully the kinks get worked out soon as I'd like to use it.

Here's a rant by a person that is annoyed that redditors are not understanding the fediverse:

https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/59927/rant-Why-is-th...

And they still state that it's easy and the other posters are scratching their heads as to why don't people understand this. "Whyyyy???"

They don't seem to understand that the average user doesn't find it easy to use. That's the biggest hint, but instead are acting like everyone is stupid but them.

That's why the fediverse is going to get a bump for a bit during this reddit situation, but then calm down as users aren't going to want to stick around. The same happened when others were leaving Twitter.

This fediverse situation reminds me of that Silicon Valley episode in which they're testing an app with a focus group. The group just doesn't understand the app and find it too complicated. Richard tries to explain the app to them, but it's too technical for them to comprehend.

There's https://squabbles.io

It's not federated, but the UI is okay for now than the other alternatives that I've seen. It's ran by 1 dev who has quickly been adding features and listening to user feedback. It's also nearing 16,000 users and a few users are developing some mobile apps for it.
