> They'll want some place that doesn't flood or get snowbound, since their HQ city will include some distribution centers. That knocks out Minneapolis - St. Paul
Snow removal in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area is quite efficient and even heavy snowfall rarely causes issues. Plenty of large companies are headquartered here and do not struggle with this issue, ex: UnitedHealth, Target, Best Buy, and 3M.
While your original point is valid, I did get decent results with "Google Espresso", "Google Jupiter Network", and "Google Andromeda Network". Though, in today's world, your Google results may look vastly different from mine.
You very likely could, and I've always had good experience with Amazon in similar situations, but it still takes a good chunk of your time to wait for the item, open it, realize it is not the actual item, contact Amazon for a refund, package it back up again, and drop it off/schedule a pick-up.
> To be honest I'm struggling to come up with too many recent sci-fi shows that don't entirely suck, irrespective of where they're being made.
I'd have to disagree. Westworld, Rick and Morty, The 100, The Expanse, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Outlander, and Sense8 come to mind as great recent Sci-Fi shows in active development. That's without mentioning the numerous high-caliber super hero shows recently released/coming soon.
Any idea about how long this would take from start to finish for someone who has a bit of experience using Linux and higher-level programming languages?
Or, you know, they could develop trade deal without all the secrecy and bullshit?
When the government has been lying to you for years about domestic spying, among other things, how do you expect them to follow you blindly on another deal made in the dark?
This country is going to go into chaos in the next ~10-25 years as more and more jobs are automated, unemployment skyrockets, and people refuse to give free money to all the "entitled white heroin users in the Rust Belt." Notwithstanding the effects of global warming ramping up.
Except because of the elitism we get to start this period with Donald Trump at the helm instead of someone at least half sane.
An article that concludes "the benefits of standing desks may be overstated" isn't really the same thing as "standing desks [are] not really good for you."
Personally I can say that I've enjoyed the transition. My posture has improved greatly. I have a lot less back/shoulder tension and pain. I find myself naturally more inclined to take breaks and walk around, which has many benefits of itself. It took some getting used to but I often spend ~6 hours a day standing instead of sitting.
If you're going to conclude that standing desks are "just a fad" I would hope that you have better evidence than that.
