Sign in w/ Apple has been a great user experience. Something that always stuck in the back of my head when downloading and signing up for a new app was the stupid email confirmation.

I agree with you - I think I would take it as a compliment as well. Also, I take back my original post on what the best comment is in this post. This is better:
