The best thing to come out of the internet!

well there is a context to this of people doing ridiculous projects just because they can through LLMs, of which Claude excels at for code-writing, so it makes sense that two users would have a similar reaction to this. also copying jokes from other people is as old as time (just check youtube comments from 2008)

They did the same thing with Komoot and other apps. I don't understand where the money comes from and how they are planning to keep this portfolio growing.

Why not just burn DVDs with whatever content one wants to fetch and re-encode to SD MPEG2? It's not like kids are super critical about picture quality anyway.

If they ever make a Kobo like the Kindle Oasis, I'll switch. Until then, I'm holding onto the best e-reader experience I've ever had.

Isn't this a bit of an ad?

No chance of it ever being hit by anything?

Thank you for saving me many minutes. It has happened more and more recently that 'interesting' headlines lead to AI slop blog posts and it just all feels like such a waste of time. Sad that content has degenerated in this way.

That is simply not true. I have tried to get so many people on Linux, just for it to fail when they try to do something simple, enough times in a row for them to want to go back to Windows.

I really wish it was seamless and good, but it just isn't (and frankly it's a bit embarrassing it isn't given desktop environments for GNU Linux have been in development for 20+ years).

It's finally the time for Sailfish OS / Linux Smartphone OSes!

What a silly idea, a whole Raspberry Pi for basic photography! Just the boot-up alone would drive someone nuts, you'd miss the moment every time and I'd drain your battery if you left it on. So silly.

Is this an appropriate course ahead? I found the split of Element Pro and Element much more interesting to achieve a nice app for normal users and a power app for professionals. I don't think I'd like my WhatsApp replacement to look/feel like a Slack replacement.

And most importantly, is there a completely new approach that Element / Matrix can bring to messaging that doesn't feel like it's replacing something?

Is there a list of supported thermostats? Would be very interested in implementing this ahead of the winter.

Saying that the macOS desktop is vastly inferior to Linux desktops is absolutely nuts. I've tried to get my relatives on Linux desktops so many times, just for it to go completely wrong a couple of weeks after and having to reinstall Windows. It's just not made for average (or below-average) users, so I don't see how it can be VASTLY inferior to something as easy and polished as macOS.
