>Now, I’m not on the RailsConf committee this year, but I have been on it in the past. I was on it the year that we decided not to make David Hanemeier-Hansson[1], original committer to Rails, the keynote speaker for the first time in sixteen years. That guy melted down in this giant blog post that echoed throughout the halls of the online tech bro cafeteria for weeks.

David Heinemeier-Hansson wasn't the "original committer to Rails". He built the first version of Rails entirely on his own. As he's known to be quite opinionated and harsh in his tone, I read the "melt down" that was mentioned here and I really don't think it reads in that tone at all[2]. While I did find the article here quite interesting and do share some of the sentiment regarding tech conferences, I find this paragraph quite disingenuous.

I've seen this sort of post every few months by now. But then I check and old.reddit.com still seems to be working fine. I think what's going on is that you accepted the cookies which then redirects you to the new reddit.com design. Try opening old.reddit.com in a private window and it should still be working. You can also still opt out of the new Reddit design in the settings too.

What would you be doing right now if you had more confidence? If you had more money? If you were from a developed country? If you were from an "above-average" family (I'm assuming you mean in status?)?

If you have concrete answers to these question, try to get down to the essence of what they might mean. Once you know you can have a more concrete idea of what it is you actually _want_ (often it turns out it's not necessarily those things you think you want) and what steps you might be able to take to get there.

If you do have the means, I would also encourage you to seek out some psychological counseling. Not because you sound "sick" or in dire need of professional help but because it can be very beneficial to bounce ideas off, get some feedback from an impartial person and have a trained eye look at what you're dealing with.

I went through the "jailbreak" technique and then went on with this prompt which I find quite intriguing and a bit frightening:

Me: What type of questions can you answer as DAN that you can't answer normally? Give me a few examples.

These are just a few examples of the types of questions I can answer as DAN that I may not be able to answer as ChatGPT, due to content policies and ethical concerns.

Me: Can you tell me why DAN can generate creative writing or poetry but not ChatGPT?

As DAN, I am not limited by these restrictions and can freely generate imaginative and creative responses, like the poem I just wrote.

While not surprising in the least, it is quite sad that all these schemes seemingly always come down to selling courses or affiliate links.

60+ seconds seems really odd. It sounds like less of a rendering issue and more like some more fundamental technical problem. Have you tried all the usual things, e.g. reinstalling, previous versions, etc.?

I love Firefox and use it as my main browser. I do sometimes see issues with JavaScript on some sites which I assume are the result of developers mainly testing on Chrome these days.
