repubicons are intent on dissolving the federal govt. I'd say we need to impeach, except we can't because the Johnson refuses to convene

in my experience trying to do full time contracting at half that rate, I found it difficult to maintain a full pipeline of work while also prospecting for future clients / supporting old clients.

it was very much feast or famine. Anybody with the budget to pay a solid rate is smart enough to watch the contract closely and get rid of the expense as soon as possible. No client who pays that kind of rate wants to share your attention and time with other clients.

Need a routine for responding to inquiries vs doing deep work.

And then there's taxes (put aside at least 25%, quarterly payments) and what about health care or not having formal PTO.

No easy answers but these are the struggles I faced. Eventually i went back to corporate gigs to stabilize my finances.

Trump has been a russian agent for years. The Mueller Report sketches it out. His mission is to destroy the United States as a liberal democracy. Clear and present danger

pretty common for senior engineer at a corporate gig

not so common for jr roles / small biz / non-tech companies

it takes at least a month to land and start a new tech job. Sorry for your situation but I'd suggest 3-4 month game plan. Dont quit your current job till u confirm a new one. But dont feel obligated to give your toxic employer any notice if u get an opportunity to start instantly.

seems useful but i'd gander the time is better spent building a blog/youtube channel, or starting that company

I followed Garry since the old days of Posterous. Seems like 5 years ago he took a turn and got obsessed with edge lordy SF politics. Finally I had to unfollow. Too much money has corrupted all the original startup role models

hybrid is the best! the company I work for does 1 day a week in-office for local employees, that's perfect
