> Interviewers want to engage you in a back-and-forth conversation about problem constraints and parameters, so avoid making assumptions about the prompt.

As someone who has conducted countless interviews at a FANG, I can not stress this point enough. The ability to just talk about a problem makes a big difference between a mediocre interview and a great interview. Besides, it's what makes an interview fun or lame.

To be fair this is California, which can’t been been a mile of high speed rail for under $1B. It means absolutely nothing in terms of costs.

Gogs is probably the most painless way to do this, especially if you’re setting up git on an existing host and don’t want to change or install a bunch of stuff.

A raspberry pi 4 would be better bang for your buck in my opinion, especially if your IP is relatively static through your ISP.

There's benefits to having compute on the same network as you. It will also be much faster to transfer files.

As a vscode user, I opened up pycharm to see if I like it at all. It asked if I wanted to update ideavim plugins and I said yes. Now looking at ~200% CPU usage for about a minute. Still can't open my folder[1].

There's nothing I hate more than work software that I have to tinker with to keep working. Maybe it doesn't deserve the reputation it has for being a resource hog, or maybe it does?

> how do you expect an almost toddler to react when forced to sit in front of a screen?

And on top of this, we should not be asking “can they” but instead “should they” have this kind of life.

If by "connect" you mean the ethernet out of the starlink router connects to the WAN port of this wireless router, then you are correct.

Starlink uses totally different frequencies than what this device is approved for.

    Frequency Range
    2412.0-2462.0
    5180.0-5240.0
    5745.0-5825.0
Looks like your standard wireless AC router (2.4ghz and 5ghz).

Whatever this is, it doesn't "talk" to starlink, per its FCC application:

> In this application, SpaceX proposes to operate in the 10.7-12.7 GHz, 13.85-14.5 GHz, 17.8-18.6 GHz, 18.8-19.3 GHz, 27.5-29.1 GHz, and 29.5-30 GHz bands.
