I don't think it will change as long as the US is the hegemon superpower. Not because they are evil or anything, but because individualism it's the core tenet of the US.
Communal and unified?, 90% of the Americans would say that's communism
Not to start an argument, but that's easy to say when you have a comfortable life and already experienced abundance.
You know, people of poor and underdeveloped countries have the right to aspire to a better life (and yes, that means owning more than a couple of ragged t-shirts and eat meat often than twice a month)

Sorry but 100 times no. Engineering is about understanding and using the laws of nature in scientific terms (mathematics). Strength of materials, thermodynamics, hydraulics, that's the stuff engineers study and do.
Hope I don't get downvoted to hell, but I guess it's remarkable that Russia had serfdom until mid 19th century because by then it was well established that white people shouldn't enslave, or attach to land, other white people.
