Not sure why this isn't the top comment.

Sama could have provided the mental health support that employees may have needed with the 10$/hr per employee profit they were making. Sama didn't and decided that instead of losing profit by providing their employees with mental healthcare they canceled the contract.

Smells fishy.

> (and the countries that copy those types of loans).

What are the other countries?

I know China is doling out these loans apart of their belt road initiative but I'm not up to speed on other countries hamstringing countries with unneeded infrastructure and billions in loans.

> People have no way of knowing where the things they buy come from

I don't know about other places and maybe I'm an outlier but I check everything for where it's produced / manufactured. Most if not all items in the US are required to have where the item was produced/manufactured. Some may say "Manufactured in the US with globally sourced material" makes it harder to pin down where each of the components originated from. Clothes and other items the country of origin is on the tag.

I've been putting this off for so long I use to be able to vacuum my entire house 2,500 sqft ish (minus furniture, etc) with battery left over. Now it dies halfway through.

I might follow you and just get a Dyson branded instead of aftermarket.

I have an autonomous standing desk (only company I could find march of 2020 that sold solid 71" long desks that are over 30" wide/deep).

The lowest setting on mine is 26.0", that's still too high? I would imagine a keyboard tray would drop it another 2-3 inches setting your keyboard below 24" from the floor.

Until you realize most corps turn off macros or only have macros on for a small subset of users.

Simply look to China and India of the past few decades. With the US offshoring a majority of their manufacturers to China, it lifted their people out of poverty. The US outsourced a majority of their tech support / call center jobs to India and India has seen the same result. You may also look to Japan and semiconductors, and engines. Note these are only but some and small portions but if you zoom out it’s hard to miss.

> Is it "increase the standard of living " when it decreases your life expectancy, physical shape

Yes, it increases the standard of living by pulling poor people out of poverty. So the rich consumer nation has their life decreased due to over consumption while increasing the standard of living of those from poorer nations. The rich consumer nation cannot consume AND increase life expectancy at an infinite rate.

The US has injected untold billions into the Indian market through off shoring phone support. India has made hundreds of millions of dollar scamming America's most vulnerable population.
