Their argument is simple. "What are you doing to do about it?" The notion of "freedom" or "rights" do not exist today. Schools teach you that capitalism is bad, more regulations are needed to be "free". By the time you are 18-24 you are wishing to be more like EU and socialized. So as our freedoms are taken away... no one will stand up. Twitters attempt is cute but individuals are not aligned to fight for the same vision.
Yeah I forgot to mention that. It doesn't look like the blog post or mailchimp for that matter provided confidence interval - which helps you indicated "oh yeah, 600% increase in conversion however this just random - not a real signal." Odd the writer didn't talk about that much- but For larger companies arguing which way to look at data is infinite. And the point of data and business isn't to argue who is right but to be giving options on which direction to go and just pick one.
I like that this person challenges aspects of online marketing. The value of the blog post is zero the movement you state a/a testing a/b testing "doesn't matter". A/B testing always matters. Its not even an opinion, A/B testing is the root of scientific method - that fact is an axiom that needs no evidence of proof or disproof - it just "is". Now if you have a marketing tool that is outputting the unexpected, then take it up with the marketing tool. Even Optimizely recently stated they updated the way they output their results to reduce false positives.
This post is a little long. Anyone who is curious, Rodney Mullen invented the 1st flip trick on skateboarding and about 80% of the flip tricks you see today on video or tv. He has an interesting take on skateboarding where he states you have to try and fail over and over with physical pain to land 1 trick. This process of physical failure to achieve, gives skateboarders a good lesson in life.
Rent and housing prices are based on supply and demand. Lots of people want to be in SF. SF housing is not meeting the demand - thus your increase in price. Meaning more building are not being erected to support the demand. The prices will continue to go up bc SF is highly regulated. Regulated in creating new building and regulated with "historical" building that can never be torn down to create bigger and better accommodations - enjoy.
I agree with you 100%. The struggle however is your good ideas are not popular... Best stated by "Woe to him who teaches men faster than they can learn."
Unfortunately 5cents for a plastic bag has nothing to do with "working". The issue is coercion and nothing works when the gov forces private companies to comply with random rules. If you want private companies to encourage "bring your own bags" then you advocate that with free speech, not with the barrel of a gun. You can gather as much data you like about it "working" and however that will never matter because the entire project is the immoral and wrong.
This should be rather interesting when FB loses market share from competitors around the world. Once threaten given bailout money, own by the government and well you know the rest. Example, automotive industry and banks : ) - Have a nice day everyone.
Not matter who or what you tax, you are still using force to extort money from those who have earned it. Capitalism represents free trade for equal value. If someone breaks a law that is a problem with the justice system not Capitalism.
Don't expect change when the simple idea of freedom, individual rights and property rights is considered evil. Today most men don't want to be free, they just want a fair master.
