As a daily runner: it might be because of the high you get after running/exercise. You’re never desperate for the drinking high because you can get it naturally running the next day.

I like listening to Joe. And I always wonder what everyone complains about.

But then I heard an anti-vax rant he did that was completely ill-informed. Made me a bit sad. https://youtu.be/tiwsv51Il4k I think he gets a bit too high sometimes.

But I still like listening to him.

The title feels incorrect grammar to me. Is it?

> don’t do very well at stopping spread

It‘s probabilities. The vaccinated kid who dies after getting infected because of transmission via unvaccinated.

Although interestingly, not everyone gets the annual flu shot. So maybe this will turn out to be the same.

But how long would you have us wear masks for?

Precisely.

A good way to try out waterboarding is swimming with a face mask. It’s not for everyone.

> If the vaccine killed 90%

Yes I would take it. Because if there is a vaccine available and recommended to the general population that has 90% kill rate, the thing it’s protecting against would undoubtedly have a higher kill rate then this. End of days scenarios we would be talking about nonetheless.

> “I decided the risk was worth it”

It’s funny though how you say this phrase for a vaccine and not for the hundreds of other riskier situations you face daily. “I drove a car…risk was worth it I decided”. It sounds a bit self-important. Vaccines are just something you do. For me it was not a decision. It’s an interesting exploration in psychology where people oppose something mostly because they are told to do it. Like a teenage rebellion attitude. I get this feeling when I feel like I am being taken advantage of or have been recently.

I can imagine it’s tough being a Google employee in the SJW era. There are a thousands ways they tell you you need to change. New language, etc. Constant unrelenting bullshit that you cannot oppose.

I think this is a way for people to take back control of something because they feel a loss of control in other areas.

Just like brexit, people want to go against things because of the people telling them to do something.

Google shouldn’t tell me. The government shouldn’t tell me. SJWs shouldn’t tell me.

But sadly I don’t think there is a way around this. But I do think the SJWs and vaccine/mask crusaders make things much worse.

“I am vaccinated. Look at this unvaccinated person. I am not like them. They are not like us. Lets go find more of them. Let’s throw stones at them. We’re not usually allowed to throw stones, but we can because they are bad. And I am now doing good, and it brings me satisfaction and purpose.”

4 billion people have been vaccinated. Don’t oh think you have your risk numbers wrong?

Do you think you are consistent in your risk judgement across all parts of your life? E.g have you ever taken drugs? Illicit or prescription?

Same. Best purchase in a long time. Can’t believe I was wondering if it would be worth it.

The VR UI paradigms are really nice.

The Japanese were fanatical and vowed to fight to the very end. There is also the story where they found a couple of Japanese soldiers who didn’t realize the war ended and maintained their post for several years after the surrender. Who knows how long a ‘bit longer’ would be. And a land invasion would have been devastatingly long drawn out conflict.

For tech it’s very important for staying up to date. There is a lot of content there that is not elsewhere.

The best strategy is to block keywords to avoid all the social justice and politics. I just wished they allowed blocking more than 200 words.

I think we just need new content ratings. We don’t show children 18+ content because they are emotionally and mentally unable to process it. A lot of the left seem unable to do the same for a lot of content.

I personally cannot emotionally handle seeing all this cancel culture stuff constantly so I block as much as I can on Twitter, YouTube, web, etc. And life is better this way.

I would prefer a single toggle to block all identity politics though cross platform.

Imagine a giant athlete the size of Arnold Schwarzenegger at his peak decides to transition and has to match a testosterone level to compete. Lol. It’s ridiculous.

Climate change is not directly proportional to co2 in the atmosphere. To reverse it requires large reductions. China, India, US. Australia’s production and usage is a rounding error at the moment.
