Virtually every human business activity is ultimately conversion of energy into money. Even if an entrepreneur purchases other goods than energy (in the manufacturing process), their price is eventually dependent on their energy consumption. The price of hiring a human worker is also dependent on overall that person's energy consumption. There is no difference between mining BTC, gold or any other business activity. What matters is how much provision one can make but it also converges (decreases) to some value set by the free market.
