American military for decades have largely been mercs for hire especially for corps. Recruitments need to consider hiring using mercs incentives (similar to Wagner). Many veterans I talked to come to the conclusions they NEVER fight for the country and often joke they did it for the money and stability....so in a way they are no different than Wagner or any other mercs. They just have better boots and benefits and maybe safer (as long as not deployed to battlefield like Ukraine or Kandahar)...moral or nationalism...not much really.
People into EV dont read statistics. I their worldview everyone bought EVs. Everyone lives in Bay area and drives EVs without touching the steering wheel. Meanwhile thousands pay for 2nd or 3rd hand cheap ICE car. A lot of my friends were shock when they lookup how small EV sales is in the world market. Even in USA, EVs is around maybe at best 5%-10% sales. And that is NEW car sales (with government subsidies). You add in used market, that numbers drop less than 1%. Even even today, Tesla is not even world biggest EV makers.
That is your perspective driving like shit. A lot of people I know still uses the manual gearbox to give them the "car feel". Some dknt even want power steering because they like to wrestle with the car during turn.

He was genius at people skill in area like motivation and business negotiations. Vast majority grads have terrible people skill (40yrs in HR attest to that). Evn if they fall to 800mil people, that is still more than 2x more than USA. The level of education in China far exceed USA. Scientific output also exceed USA right now. Then just niched output in AI already surpassed USA just a week ago. You go to any mart in USA, easily 60% stuff come from China. You look in ANY American colleges, you will find "East Asians" a lot even more so in Ivy Leagues. By 2050, we will all acknowledge China is the new USA even if their population drop by half. Look at Japan, their 100m dwindling to 80m still so dominant. You multiply that by 10x and with added ruthlessness in business competition. Hard not to see China gdp NOT exceeding USA in 5-10yrs time. As for economic free fall, USA is due for a super motherload big one. Since it has bigger economy, the fall would be bigger as well. I put my money on China especially now since things it is way cheaper there. Even Tesla look like dwarf when you compare to BYD in China (and they havnt largely tackle market outside China).
Whether Toyota will pivot to EV or not doesnt matter. This is solar all over again. The Chinese EV market absolutely dominates any EV markets in the world. BYD alone would make Tesla look like just Porche vs Toyota. I forsee Tesla will just fizzled out. Their solar already gone. Their cybertruck is a joke. Their sales in China after so many years with advantage of tech and factory still dwarfed by almost every other EVs in China. Now imagine those Chinese EVs are Huawei and let loose.
Suppose to. But USA isn't exactly practicising free market. Coming back from doing business in China, their market is truly competitive and free as long as you factor out some specific "Government guanxi thing" and "central government policy" (e.g. clamping down on private tuition and enrichment classes). Their EVs have no restriction like in USA where Tesla cannot sell in some region because of existing car dealership. Insurance too are consider "costless" to high risk group and must never deny pre-existing. All this extra government intervention in USA really not helping "free market". In USA the last 3 presidents, things get so anti-competitive and almost like centralized planning to some extend (solyndra) especially Bush-Obama time. The only unrestricted "free market" now is people. You see that Cali moving to Texas over the last decade. Expect similar things to happen to Florida as well in this decade.
