The UAE has a CT (corporate tax) of 9% since 2023 [0, page 8]

This provides an overview [1]

For 2026 "The UAE's tax system is getting stricter. Not in rates. In enforcement." [2]

Jeanne Calment gave up smoking at 117 [0].

Number of people who also lived past 117 is three [1].

Sarah Knauss had a fondness for sweets and hated vegetables [2] lived to 119.

Edit: Merely a curio of the people who held number 1 and 2 position of verified oldest people for over two decades.

Apologies, if the post suggested otherwise.

Spain fined Booking (Dutch company) 413M€ last month.

For abusing its dominant position, the post has only 2 points [0].

Yet, this one has significantly more comments.

The only political aspect is where the company comes from.

Forum members then want to speak up.

Could someone explain what happened via telephony?

Telegraph->Operator->Rotary->Touch-tone->Cellphone.

It would seem everyone of these would be a next step in technology and protocols.

Sending a text message via rotary phone is probably not possible. However, calling a rotary phone via smartphone should work.

Is there a reason why newer protocols could not be implemented/enforced?

Whereby email from proton to tuta (and similar new email services) it acts differently than when sent to the older version of email (current method).

Susan Rigetti has a nice overview [0]

In this Susan recommends https://www.khanacademy.org/, which is good for most things learned in primary or secondary school.

There is an open source curriculum equivalent for an undergrad compromised of MOOC and similar resources [1]

Similar to the above is a markdown [2], with a scope directed towards people coming from a CS background.

After this perhaps focus more on statistics & data science for metric interpretation. R for Data Science [3] is an option.

From details elsewhere [0], Dutch company booking.com could be added.

There are probably more that did not make the first round:

Telegram

Spotify - Sweden

OLX - Netherlands

Ryanair - Ireland

Are some possibilities for the next round.

Sorry, have not seen "very receptive".

Received a masters degree in STEM from a Nordic country. This somehow rendered me less desirable in being hired?

Living on the streets is not what I envisioned while signing up for an university program.
