So many websites do this, it's basically the norm. On mobile Safari you can use "hide distracting items" to get rid of it.
Alternatively, add and use a "kill sticky" bookmarklet, which is useful in many other situations. You can modify the bookmarklet to re-enable scrolling if that got disabled by a paywall/regwall.
Not intending to nitpick, but it's interesting that Chris Lattner is listed simply as the creator of Swift. I would have thought his work on LLVM and Mojo would have been at least as well known.
Ironically it's because of AI-coding that I'm spending more time practicing Haskell. And since it's still helpful to read references, I bought this bundle.
I'll take your word on the prices of game bundles since I haven't tracked that.
However I've bought book bundles every year for the past 8 years. In 2018, a full bundle was usually $15, with a suggested price of $25. Starting in 2021, the bundles were bumped up to $18, still suggested at $25 (but O'Reilly bundles cost more).
15+3 is a 20% increase, but is still below retailer's $20 threshold "impulse buy" rule of thumb.
A couple months ago, an electric vehicle caught on fire in a garage a few doors down in San Francisco. It was not charging at the time (4am). No one injured but 3 floors of tenants had to move out. Anecdotal sure, but close to home for me.
