2) Putting less skilled people in middle mgmt on top of engineers (thats a big putoff bcoz we do check their profiles), measuring work more, valuing people that actually work more
3) Sports area, occasional hangouts, spare time for personal projects
4) News updates, taking reviews, giving feedback, more involved, valuing tech stuff, following future market trends
I just think that the more you give importance and oppose him the more he might win. People knows that corporate guys are only behind profit, so they will vote him as a result.I don’t like the guy 1% but, the topics he brought up are some real issues in the country. He is totally fake but people are buying into those problems as they are real. Its real testing times ahead.

If you are interested in landing a web developer front end job, you can start by developing some utility websites as part of your portfolio. Should you succeed to learn framweworks like React.js/Backbone.js + html 5 + basic java,sql. I think you could definitely land the job.
However, if I was you I would have continued in embedded SW and tried my hands on Arduino, Python, c++ and tried in another such job. As it would have allowed me to progress on what I have already learned.
But it depends on you, what motivates and interests you between the 2.
I somehow think that the interviewer should also be interviewed at the same time. If you have that kind of experience under your belt, one might definitely be interested in knowing if the person he/she would work under is really capable or not ? Working with/under someone lesser than you n same person is taking your interview, its kind of a insult to be honest.
