Not sure if you're alluding to this but it's analogous to the same differences between startups and big tech companies.

Startups = have few resources, product has to work or company dies

Big tech = minimal cost of failure, instead minimizing risk

And yet this mechanic is also why startups are able to innovate and bring new products to market so much faster.

Is "being mocked" not also "facing the rage of many"? What do you imagine with the latter that would be so much worse?

I actually didn't smell AI at all while reading this article, because the idea density seemed high, rather than when AI just expands a few ideas into repetitive mumbo jumbo. The last portion was a bit wordy and metaphysical, but he landed the plane at the end.

What is the CPU/GPU architecture of this and how could a collaboration between whoever made it and Nvidia possibly outperform Apple Silicon?

Good luck, and please don't be discouraged if it takes 20 launches to figure out what works! That's completely normal.

Time is money, and it's easier to negotiate with a dealer from whom you're buying a car than to coordinate many meetings with randos on Craigslist.

2 years ago AI coding agents had barely emerged yet, right? Couldn't have gotten good results even if a good engineer was forced to use it...

This feels like the example of (world-famous violinist) Joshua Bell playing violin in the DC subway and getting just a few bucks. It's totally different than paying money to see him in a concert hall, context matters so much...

A skills-based personalized learning platform: https://parsnip.substack.com/p/knowledge

We started this because we were building https://www.parsnip.ai/, an app to help people learn how to cook. But then that became a bit of a yak shave because we realized we first had to figure out how to teach people different skills at different times all starting from different places, and also needed to help fund the creation of the app.

We ended up generalizing the platform to education in other domains (K-12, higher ed, workforce) as B2B2B "AI learning infrastructure" but still have our cooking app which is also starting to take advantage of this R&D finally coming to fruition!

The fact that one of the em dashes has spaces around it, and the other does not, makes it more likely to be handwritten.

I personally love em-dashes and hate that they're a sign of AI writing now.

It seems like Black Mirror's "Joan is Awful" is here, but instead of a quantum computer generating personalized content, we just have an endless parade of meaningless slop.

I thought this was the case, but then I went to a full movie theater and really enjoyed being a part of an audience that was all experiencing the same thing. You could feel the emotion and that is a different sense than having the theater all to you to, but potentially just as rewarding.
