The Edo period (Tokugawa Japan) was also a time of "Sakoku" (national isolation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakoku ). Foreign invasions occurred in a different era and under different rulers.

For those visiting Japan, I'd like to add one important point. It's true that parts of Japan's judicial system are truly "middle age". https://www.huffpost.com/entry/hideaki-ueda-japan-shut-up-vi...

However, fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), you can't bribe officials. Japan is a society where it's difficult to get special treatment by giving money, not just to officials. If you try to use bribes, you'll only be looked down upon and put in a worse position.

Fsnotify is a library that many projects depend on. Kubernetes is one example, and this issue was a concern. arp242's explanation is reasonable, and the concerns seem to have been alleviated. https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/issues/138812

I felt this issue strongly reflects recent trends:

1. Projects are considered "dead" if they haven't changed for a certain period. https://github.com/fsnotify/fsnotify/issues/735

2. People's perceptions are shaped by ambiguous information on social media.

3. People are constantly afraid of dependencies.

4. "AI rewrite" projects are created instantly. https://github.com/gofsnotify/fsnotify

Regarding the Japanese system, there are no restrictions on moving residence. Resident registration (Jūminhyō) can be done anywhere. Therefore, if you move to a new place of residence, it is common and recommended to register accordingly. I don't know the details, but I think the system in China is probably completely different.
