The flavor is completely different but the umami of miso is crazy, if it would not be so salty i’d eat it by the spoonful. Honestly I don’t miss cheese at all, there are some replacements good enough for the occasional sandwich or pizza.
I’ve vegan for 20+ years and find weird the obsession people have with meat that without even talking about milk. Literally there are hundreds of alternatives better for health, for the environment and for the animals yet we keep looking for justifications to consume them.
I’ve working in automotive since it was only wires and never saw that (or noticed it) happening specially since usually body and powertrain work on separate buses tied through a gateway, the crazy stuff happens when people start treating the bus (specially the higher speed ones) like a 12v line or worst.
>when looking that something carefully and meticulously designed is restructured, replaced or thrown away so quickly and carelessly.
That’s just a trend that has been accelerating for a while now. Make things quick, quality and longevity are qualities of the past. Is better to give a bad solution quickly than having to stop to think.
I’m a believer that the hard work brings more joy, digging crates of vinyl and finding that rare album even if it has pops and noise feels 100x more enjoyable that streaming it.
> the patty made from a single natural ingredient that's been a staple of the human diet since the dawn of man.
The fact that meat comes from a single source doesn’t make it automatically healthier, so is ricin, cyanide and polonium yet I wouldn’t include any of them in my diet. Plant based protein is healthier than its animal counterpart and this is proven by proper scientific studies, not by Tik-tok stars or nutrition “experts”.
I work on German cars on a daily basis, the “online diagnostic” of one of the top brands runs on a sort of remote desktop fashion complete with windows boot screen, I don’t need to tell you that speed is not one of its main features.

Also:

I’be been reading schematics for over 30 years, sometimes i need to draw one just to understand an idea that I have. These “real” drawings (like fritzing) hurt my head. They might be useful for the casual tinkerer but anyone who finds electronics interesting should learn the basic symbols.
The weak link is that for “the haves” to have, the “have -nots” are needed. To have or to not is just a comparison, a millionaire needs the poor to be rich and to feel special otherwise when everyone is special nobody is.
Earth can sustain current population many times over, what it cannot however is human greed and stupidity. No worries, as George Carlin said: “Save the earth! Save the earth! The earth is fine, we are the ones who are screwed.”
I noticed the price creeping the last time and just said to me “when it touches the $15 mark it’s gone, it seems to be approaching there so I’ll look for a different platform or just go back to mp3s.
