Seems like we all forgot about the election scandal with Meta. They are a parasite to society and what used to be a way to connect with college peers has become a stain to adolescent development.

Scary and utter chilling to read. Reminds me of the Firestone scandal in some ways but likely with far reaching worse consequences for society.

The general population does not understand technology sufficiently well to set it up correctly, regulate it or use it correctly. Until we educate our population more on technology we will always be in this state.

It’s easy when you skirt regulations.

Nvidia has to balance relations with their biggest customers. So that’s a careful decision to be made by them.

What value is quoting the article without any substance added?

Soft power is no fun. Let’s send in missiles and aircraft carriers otherwise we’re not making America great.

> OpenAI has abandoned its open source roots.

It was only a matter of time. The font on the dollar sign kept increasing, eventually selfish humans will always crack. Keeping it open had to be instilled with it becoming a public utility. Private companies don't do altruistic things unless they benefit.

SeaTac handles this with augmentation from the port. They do an excellent job and have not been impacted by any of the recent shut downs.

Why do airwaves matter? I get cable over the internet. Technology constraints shouldn’t me what allows laws to undermine democracy.

Atrocities can be repeated. There is nothing wrong with reiterating the negative outcomes a specific person has unleashed to towards societies greater good.

Because the article said so? That’s your rationale for saying the executive branch isn’t weaponizing the rest of government offices for their own influence and benefit. Sorry, color me unconvinced until this administration shows good faith.

Probably less about tax revenue and more about the executive branch squeezing tech companies to assert influence.

Generally I agree up until now where we appear to be treading on the threshold of AI being orders of magnitude more powerful. Given that, which has potential to displace large swaths of the labor force, I feel as though society deserves a larger return on investment.

Anyone remember when the discussions about classifying the internet as a utility and Akit’s stupid Reese cup coffee mug. It feels so long ago given how much has transpired since.
